Alabama High School Rodeo

The Alabama High School Rodeo is coming to Ralph this weekend. In the past, the rodeo has operated mostly in southern Alabama. It regularly draws large crowds in Baldwin County and Andalusia, but it rarely ventures north of Montgomery. The state’s reigning high school rodeo queen, Stephanie Shackelford, is a member of the team. The championship is the culmination of a four-year process to qualify for the national finals.

The Alabama High School Rodeo Association is a nonprofit organization that has been operating for over 40 years. It is affiliated with the National High School Rodeo Association and has more than 70 schools competing in each event.
